Welcome back to Super Hero Synopses, where sometimes you have to settle for a clip show. Especially when all the attention will be on your sister show.

Kaito Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patranger, Episode 29
“Pictures Are Memories”

Sakuya (Patren #2) is speaking to the other Patrangers about having a welcome party for Noel (X), and it immediately becomes clear to the others that Noel himself is pushing the celebration himself. They stumble across Gauche and a group of Pordermen and move in to attack them. The Lupinrangers are also in the area and hear the commotion. Touma notices that one of the Pordermen has had it’s head replaced with a Gangler safe, and has an enlarged hand. It is the result of one of Gauche’s experiments and she directs it to test it’s abilities on Keiichiro (Patren #1). The Gangler touches him and a large number of photographs pour out of his head. Disappointed with the results, Gauche and her forces retreat back to the Ganglers’ dimension. It soon becomes clear that Keiichiro is missing a large number of his memories.

Back at the station, it soon becomes clear that Keiichiro doesn’t remember any of his colleagues aside from Tsukasa (Patren #3). The other Patrangers have gathered the photographs that emerged from him, and Tsukasa shows some of them to him in order to try and revive his memory. Noel questions whether they managed to find all of the photos given the fairly small number they have retrieved, causing the others to scramble back to the scene to double check. At bistro Jurer, the Lupinrangers are looking at a couple of the photos and wonder how they were taken. Noel arrives and explains what they really are. He attempts to recruit the Lupinrangers to help restore Keiichiro’s memories, but Kairi (Lupin Red) and Touma (Lupin Blue) seem unmoved by his plight. Meanwhile Sakuya and Tsukasa are discussing some of the photos they found when Jim Carter alerts them that Keiichiro has left the station.

Keiichiro had left to try and find Gauche and stop anyone else losing their memories as he had. He manages to find them but finds himself at a disadvantage as he cannot remember how to transform. The Lupinrangers appear and begin fighting the Pordermen. Watching them fight seems to jump start Keiichiro’s memory. The photographs all fly back to merge into his head again and he transforms. He summons the Crane Trigger Machine and unleashes an attack that destroys all the Pordermen, with Touma barely removing the Lupin Collection piece from the modified foot soldier before it is destroyed. Good Striker appears, expecting a giant to appear for him to help them fight, but is left disappointed this time. Later that evening, both teams assemble for Noel’s welcome party and watch the fireworks together.

So yeah, clip shows are never quite as exciting are they? I guess you just have to hope that they put the resources into something good, and it is nice to see the focus swinging back towards the Patrangers a little after a few weeks where they have barely featured. Do you enjoy having the opportunity to look back, or do you find episodes like this an easy skip. We’ve crossed the halfway point of the show now; How do you think Kaito Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patranger has shaped up so far? We’d love for you to let us know on our Facebook page or in our forum.
