Last weekend, Stage 107’s theatre in Shinjuku held a rather unique Ultraman stage show that featured no fighting, returns of characters or anything to do with the Ultra universe. However, it starred Ultra Seven’s Kohji Moritsugu, Ultra Galaxy’s Shota Minami(pictured above) and a mix of other shows’ actors.
Being around for almost fifty years, the Ultraman franchise has claimed the first in many things; in 2001 the series was awarded the Guinness Book of World Records for most amount of television spin offs. In 2013, the record has continued to be upheld for a total of 12 years.
In March of 1996 Tsuburaya opened Ultraman Land. A theme park dedicated to their signature franchise and heroes. Sadly, as with many things today, the place has closed town.
Tsuburaya Pro., in conjunction with the mobile game company Amimoca, have announced the Asian release of the Ultraman Galaxy mobile game. Although it will eventually be released in other countries, including North America.
