
Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters is currently in theaters in Japan, before it arrives to Netflix in 2018! Now, on its theatrical release Polygon Pictures’ announced the title for the second film in this anime trilogy; the sequel is entitled Godzilla: Decisive Battle Mobile Breeder City. In addition, Polygon Pictures released a teaser visual for next installment, which is of the Anti-Godzilla Decisive Battle Weapon, “Mechagodzilla.” Furthermore, the visual below is being used for the sequel’s advance ticket sales.

Mechagodzilla is one the most popular kaiju in Toho’s roster, as it is a robotic imitation of Godzilla. Originally Mechagodzilla was a weapon used by invaders as seen in Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (1974), and its sequel, Terror of Mechagodzilla (1975); the two films which closed out the Showa Era of Godzilla films. Mechagodzilla would later return in the Heisei Era and Millennium Era as a weapon created by the government to combat the King of the Monsters. However, in the Millennium Era, Mechagodzilla (otherwise known as Kiryu) was constructed atop the skeleton of the original Godzilla. With Godzilla: Decisive Battle Mobile Breeder City, this will be Mechagodzilla’s sixth appearance!
