I think they just used footage from the cross over movie for their trailer – not realising what was actually in it

It could also be from the Super Hero Time introduction segments.

While I’m quite positive it’s nothing, I wouldn’t mind Wizard being in a Sentai. I still think it’s a great crime Kyoryuger didn’t try to slip a dragon in somewhere.

Honestly if they adapt Wizard and make the setting like the Wizard Magic land movie I’d be willing to check that out.

Actually, Saban only tried once. And Adness’ Dragon Knight was awesome.

Honestly, I say let Saban handle PR and let someone else handle Kamen Rider, and if KR adaptions were to get as popular as PR, the two companies could do annual crossovers with both franchises.

This may sound pretty stupid, but i think Kamen Rider should be on Cartoon Network or w/e channel Game of Thrones, Super Natural, Breaking Bad, or Walking Dead is on. As long as it’s not Saban Brands, I’m ok with the adaptation

For Cartoon Network, why not? I mean there’s a bunch of crappy live action shows like Level Up, The Incredible Crew, Destroy Build Destroy, Out of Jimmy’s Head, Dude What Would Happen. If Kamen Rider Dragon Knight being shown on Cartoon Network, the ratings might go up also Nick and Cartoon Network will have a Tokutatsu wars with Power Rangers vs Kamen Rider.

For other channels, because those shows i mentioned are popular and everybody knows them as well watches them on those channels. If Kamen Rider were to be on those channels, Everyone will watch and see how cool it is. If the acting and story are just as good as Adness’s Kamen Rider Dragon Knight. The Emmy award wining show, i’m sure people will like it and see it better than Power Rangers.

You do realize that Kamen Rider Dragon Knight got a daytime emmy award right? Even though it’s a piss poor budget tokutatsu american adaptation, it’s hell of alot better than Saban’s Masked Rider in terms of editing, somewhat story wise, nice serious but also a little light warming tone, it felt like watching an action tv show on CW . Every show with new different seasons like Power Rangers people will always find a reason to bash it on but those reasons are not reasonable and has no information or facts but also most mainly on one’s strong emotional opinion. There are three types of people in the tokutatsu fandom.

The first would be the Japanese weeaboo “original” purist, blinding themselves to only nothing but the ones who made it first.. which is Japan. They carelessly blind themselves by japanese culture forgetting to point out the bad things on the show which is piss poor CGI effects, poor fight choreography. Needless to say Kamen Rider Den-O left me with one question. How come they don’t give the adult Sakurai Yuuto character development or let him interact with the characters by talking? The dude is a freaking mute… Yet the Japanese purists would say “Oh Kamen Rider in the Japan is better than what the American does.”! “Kamen Rider Dragon Knight sucks, and Japan did it better so $*&^ YOU!” Uh the American version has as much problems and flaws just as the originals made in Japan. Yet for some reason Kamen Rider Dragon Knight manage to get an Emmy award. So not all tokutatsu shows adapted to America are bad to others.

The second would be the Nostalgia “Genwunner” fans. The first American adaptation of the Japanese Super Sentai show Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger is mostly known all over the world as “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” The fans stuck by with Mighty Morphin Power Rangers as a child and always remember the time they spend watching it But because of this, the “fans” cannot let go of the past and always judge “MMPR” as best power rangers series ever. They will always bash new seasons of power rangers that comes after it like Alien Ranger- Super Megaforce also Dino Charge which is not even out yet in America. The nostalgia of the fans created this new “hip” sensation even the news media like Fox 26, NBC, as well ABC mentioning Mighty Morphin Power Rangers as this cool awesome show that everyone loves yet they don’t even research the damn show, don’t know anything about the legacy of power rangers, or the show in general. All they want is to embrace the nostalgia. Another example would be the MMPR fan film creating this dark tone serious edgyness by trying to seperate the cornyness light warming feeling of the show, as well seperating the legacy and becoming its own universe. Power Rangers wasn’t suppose to be a “Christopher Nolan” type of show/movie. The fan film turn it what it’s not suppose to be. In fact it tried to copy the tokutatsu action drama “Kamen Rider” but re-using the name “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers”. The director of this film is a “Genwunner” (one who only knows the first original, never bother watching the other series, always put the first above all the newer ones and continues to bash it, make a fan film of the first original and aiming it towards the “adult” audience.) by only focusing the first power ranger season such as Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

The third but also last type of people in the tokutatsu fandom are the people who watches both shows such as the original Japanese and American adaptation show. Critiques the show by it’s quality, not by it’s origin or being the first, as well not let the japanese culture as well nostalgia persuade one’s opinion.

Being a Japanese weeaboo purists is just the same as being a nostalgia genwunner. Both are seen as negative elitists as well frowned upon by many minorities such as myself. They continue to entitle their opinion based on strong emotions and never let the people enjoy watching the show themselves. For those types of people, please stop reviewing the show or telling people what to watch. If people only review by origin, being the first, not given any of the shows a chance, not equally pointing out the pros and cons. Again ,please stop assuming and coming to conclusions of the show being “bad”. That is just being stupid

They really could have used other footage if it was just a slip up that Wizard was in a few scenes. But I feel that Kamen Rider could be a big hit if done right for an American audience. We don’t want a repeat of Saban’s Masked Rider, but Kamen Rider Dragon Knight was a step in the right direction. Do something similar to Dragon Knight with Wizard, but better, and I think it will have a good full run with plenty of marketing potential.

That represents a sign saban brands are poor and not good at editing like the other anime dubbers it will take some ‘original’ production team to make a original power rangers team american made to make the series look good.

Backdoor pilot. That’s how they did it with Maked Rider.

Wouldn’t it be cool though for them to use Dino Charge to launch Masked Rider Wizard?

Cause that never failed them before right?……… right?

Technically, that was not the source of the failure first time around. It was only due to bad timing since Saban’s Masked Rider became a spin-off while MMPR was dropping in ratings.

Are you guys seriously going to be bitches about this? Ever since Saban made the trademark “Power Rider” all I’ve been seeing are whiny users saying “it won’t happen.”
Where is your support for God sakes? It’s because of that negativity that we may never have Power Rider or see any Kamen Rider adaptation.
So stop being such prix and start turning on your positive sides. What, just because Saban screwed up with Masked Rider, gives you the right to be bitches about this? Learn to move on people, learn to move on.
To hold a fanboyish grudge on a series made 18 years ago (yes, that long ago) is just plain sad and pathetic. Keep in mind that Dragon Knight was pretty decent by itself, so don’t you even think about using that show as an excuse for no support.
Support is all Saban needs guys, sprouting out nonsense like “it won’t happen” is not support; it’s the opposite of support.
This one small one-shot could be seen a sign, a sign that there could still be hope for Kamen Rider to be released in America. That if you starting saying “yay! we’re finally getting a Kamen Rider adaption!” it WILL happen.
C’mon guys, I’ve been dying to see something like this for years. To finally seeing Kamen Rider in America on my TV, to finally have a Kamen Rider DVD collection on my shelf.
That is my dream, my dream right there. To have a huge Japanese super hero collection with Kamen Rider at the center. Now, with all this indy-to-nega bullshit going on? *poof* dream is just crushed.
So, please, just stop saying that “Power Rider won’t happen” and start encouraging it to happen! Please!

      You misread my intentions.
“All things considered, we have strong reason to believe that this find,
while very cool, is most likely nothing of note. Saban has been found
slipping Kamen Rider footage into their Marketing Trailers before, as
they are typically made before shooting begins on the show, out of raw
cuts of the base Sentai series. ”

We reported on this because it was being passed around, as fact, that Wizard was appearing in DIno Charge. As we now know, Wizard is not.

I support the idea of Kamen Rider being localized, and even recently wrote an article as a sort of “Call To Action” for the fanbase, in response to Toei’s posting of full episodes of various Toku to Youtube, with no Country restrictions.

I never once said “It won’t happen.” I said this specific instance is likely nothing, and it was.

Thanks for reading, and your comment.
