Dina Cataldi Powers Up In The Stellar New Trailer For MMPR!
After completing its Fall season cross-country comic-con run, the new trailer aired publicly on Thanksgiving Day for the upcoming non-profit fan film episode of the inspired new vision of the long-running Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series titled MMPR. The new fan film, directed by Dominick Sivili, comes well over a year since Sivili began a successful crowdfunder for his highly ambitious take on the now 20-year old high energy television series which crossed over to America in the early 1990’s courtesy of Saban Entertainment.
Coming in 2014, MMPR kicks off the new year with the first episode starring Dina Cataldi as the Blue Ranger, with future episodes featuring Don Money (Red Ranger), Ricky Barksdale (Black Ranger), and Kimberly (Pink Ranger) and Ashley Carvalho (Yellow Ranger). They are joined by actors John Damroth and Matt Meinsen, actors Robert Axelrod and Jerry Murdock as the respective voice and body of a newer take on ‘Power Rangers’ season two TV villain, Lord Zedd, and actor David Fielding, an original mainstay of the TV show since the first season in a celebratory return to the role of Zordon.
Take a look and stay tuned for more info.
EPISODE 1 DESCRIPTION:
As the world celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Power Rangers, a controlling paramilitary group known as The Silver Guardians has taken over the duty of protecting the citizens of Angel Grove. Claire Ashmore (Dina Cataldi) is a former top soldier of the Silver Guardians, until she unearths the plans made by the head of the organization, General E.A. Collins (John Damroth). For the first time on the other side of a conflict, Claire must stop the Silver Guardians before it is too late. She will stumble upon the help of the ancient mythological being known as Zordon, the former mentor of the Power Rangers, as she unravels the mystery and attempts to steal the Power Morphers from the Silver Guardians.
A new war has begun between the Power Rangers, The Silver Guardians and the returning Lord Zedd!

Those are actually pretty crappy suits. I wanted a Ranger suit, not a Rider suit. What’s with the excessive body armor?

That’s because spandex is lame

I dig it. I prefer armor to spandex and I think the more custom they go, the less likely they’re looking at legal trouble.

A gritty MMPR for adults! Looking forward to it.
However, Im looking at the suit and something deep inside screams “Akibaranger”.
That series has ruined me 🙁

Love how people always criticize the spandex but never notice that the spandex is a special suit made for protection and in many seasons has computers in it. But then again I suppose the “power rangers” never get injured enough to explain how their suits work.
