In March of 1996 Tsuburaya opened Ultraman Land. A theme park dedicated to their signature franchise and heroes. Sadly, as with many things today, the place has closed town.
Opening a few months prior to the debut of Ultraman Tiga, Ultraman Land was a place where children and their family could see and interact with the various Ultra characters. Outside the usual statues of the Ultras and monsters, there was a nearly life-sized statute – well from the chest up – of Tiga with an opened palm so children can stand on making it look like Tiga was holding them. There was a fighting show and workers dressed as the Ultras to interact with the guests. There was even a mockup of a command base and some vehicles.
 
However, in recent years attendance started to drop, something that’s happened to various theme parks in Japan the past couple of years. Back in February Tsuburaya announced they were closing the park. On Sunday September 1, at 7:45 PM Japanese time the park’s timer finally went out and doors closed for good.
