Saban Brands, current torchbearer for the Power Rangers franchise, is closing its doors this summer, with a series of layoffs that will leave 60 persons searching for new employment after the acquisition of their famous property by toy powerhouse Hasbro. It’s uncertain whether any of Saban’s current staff will transfer over to Hasbro’s new initiative, but speculation continues to run rampant about the future of the Power Rangers banner.
Los Angeles Business Journal marks July 1, 2018 as the official closing date for the company.
Meanwhile, fans will have the premiere of Power Rangers Beast Morphers to look forward to in 2019.
