I really hope if that HALO jump stays in the movie we get more context as to why they’d do it. Why the hell would you do a jump that is designed to make your troops as invisible as possible, but then give them big, red, smoking flares attached to their legs jumping in to a situation where they might just get plucked up by a giant roaring lizard? I’m wondering if this is going to take more cues from Cloverfield than from Pacific Rim.

yeah I thought that was weird too lol. Hopefully it will make more sense in the full movie.

because they are jumping in a what that the red smoke would allow them to not crash into each other due to the possibility of something going wrong with the jump. also lets them know who landed where when they need to group back up.

anyone else think he was a bit too big to be making a sound that high pitched? I dunno, maybe it’s just me not having much Godzilla knowledge

Godzilla for the majority of his franchise lifetime, has mostly always had a high pitch roar (Except for the Original, Godzilla 1985 through Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah). So yeah, you probably didn’t know is all, which is understandable of course.

I’m getting a horrible feeling this is going to be like if the Cloverfield monster and the monsters from Pacific Rim got together and made an even more offensive movie.

Hollywood do you learn nothing from your failures?

and got to love our modern sound design of making everything sound like its from inception or a train hitting the brakes in slow motion.

That’s some top notch sound design folks.

Why do you have a horrible feeling? So far nothing so far should legitimately give you such a feeling, since nothing horrible about this film is there, and the director is an actual Godzilla fan unlike Roland. Gareth and Legendary knows what needs to be done, and knows how badly they have to get Godzilla right. They aren’t going to be making the same mistakes as GINO.

Also, please, the music in the trailer is nothing like from inception. Blowing it out of proportion, but that’s expected from some cynical movie goers.

I agree with you there. The original Godzilla like final war is more awesome.
