Syfy just might have a new hit on their hands. A kaiju series called, Creature at Bay. Brian Singer, the director of X-Men, and his Bad Hat Harry Productions is developing a 90 minute pilot that involves an attack on a small town in Northern California and the clean up efforts that follow. From the sound of it, we might not be looking on mech on monster action a la Pacific Rim, but more closer to something like Cloverfield the TV Series, but who knows? The pilot is being written by John Conbrera who co-wrote the fantastic H+.
Here’s the pitch:
Creature At Bay is set in the wake of the US military taking down a giant, rampant creature — a modern-day “Kaiju” monster – just off the Northern California coast. A middle-management Undersecretary from the California Emergency Management Agency is charged with leading the clean-up efforts as the small town becomes the focus of the entire world.

The picture is from Monsterpocalypse, it was a mini’s game. It was actually pretty fun though. One set of rules allowed you to throw buildings at your enemies.

It’s just about the clean-up after the disaster? I’m sorry guys, but unless they’ve a lot more in store and that’s just a shitty pitch, this won’t last a season, if it even gets picked up for a series.
