This is the coolest thing I have ever read. It breaks down to this basically:
“During the robbery, a … boy snuck into his bedroom, dressed himself in a Power Ranger costume and armed himself with a plastic sword,” police said. “The child then exited his room and approached the armed suspect, in an attempt to protect his family.” (Read the rest here.)
Now, if there are any kids out there do not do this at home! But fuck damn if this wasn’t the coolest new story I’ve heard all year.
Go, kid! GO!
EDIT: Sorry, but I just have to post this. Forum member Bolt breaks this situation down and why this kid deserves to be looked up to as a hero:
“It is and it isn’t. It isn’t in that it was a situation of extreme danger or even potential fatality, and it is in that even a child that young has the kind of moral and courage to stand up to several (armed) people 3 times his size when his family was being threatened. Did the kid only do it because he couldn’t comprehend that he was actually in serious danger? Maybe, it was just instinctual. Could he have actually done anything to stop them had they decide to start shooting? No, it would’ve been a bloodbath. But the fact that he was brave enough to try, and not to just take that kind of shit sitting down, now that’s something we can all look up to.”-Bolt

The child then exited his room and approached the armed suspect, in an attempt to protect his family. […]
