Over on Indiegogo ex-Ranger actor Michael Copon, better known as Lucas from Power Rangers Time Force, works away on a fan project to top all others. With so much buzz around the Power Rangers fandom after the Joseph Kahn “Power/Rangers” fan film, it was only a matter of time before we as fans got what we really want: a film by the ex-rangers, for fans. The “Independent Power Ranger Movie” Project, as it is tentatively titled, will feature Copon “going back in time to convince Wes to join forces with him on this mission to save the world”, along with many Ranger alum “not [set] in the universe of Power Rangers”.
Unlike the previously mentioned fan film, the mix of an interesting story combined with tongue in cheek humor about the Power Rangers canon shines like the Lights of Orion as must watch material. “[This film] will finally bring an end to the random remakes and spin off ideas built around the walls of Power Rangers, breaking the walls to the Power Ranger universe, making it bigger than any other Ranger influenced film and give the fans the action-packed, ranger-filled film the fans have wanted since watching the original Power Ranger series.”Get a gander of this comedic trailer prepared by Copon himself featuring actors Austin St. John, Erin Cahill, David Yost, Walter Jones, Jason Faunt, and Blake Foster.
