The ninjas are coming and Shuriken Sentai Nininger is right on the horizon. Here’s a much clearer look at the first push of toys.
The new catalog is here and we finally have our first good look at the team’s mecha revealed in a blurry catalog scan just last week. The name has been confirmed as Shurikenjin.
Shurikenjin is created from the combination of five rather unique mecha: Shinobimaru belonging to Red makes up the center of mecha akin to Ryuseioh of Dairanger, along with Dragonmaru for Blue, Dumpmaru for Yellow, Wanmaru for white, and Byunmaru for Pink. Shurikenjin will have different combinations at it’s disposal, the scan shows that Blue’s machine can be swapped out for Red’s though what functionality this will have in the show is unknown.
In addition, we have our first look at the Nininger’s arsenal with the reveal of the DX Shinobigatana, the personal side arm held by each of the individual Ranger which seems to use a similar gimmick to the Spin Disks from Shinkenger. Along with the Shinobigatana we have the Gamagamaju, some sort of frog-like pistol and the Karakuri Hengen shown to transform into various weapons for Red, Blue, and Yellow.
Finally, we have articulated action figures ala Bandai of America, dubbed the Ninin Action Series figures, each one standing at about 134mm. At the time, the release information’s too blurry to make it, more on that when the information becomes available.

have they always made toys of just the guys in japan? I thought that was US only. That really stinks.

I’m not sure what i think. I like the idea of multiple formations i remember said rumor years ago for shinkenger that the Mecha would use the colored mecha as armor- similar to Justirizers I guess. This takes a step in that direction allowing Red/blue to swap position. Sadly based on the looks Yellow won’t be likely to be a ‘head” Unless we can put dump on bacwkards and have a hidden face- Then use both Red/blue as arms-
Pink looks to be solid- and white i’m not sure if it’d beable to “fold” so Pink/white centers seem the least likely while RBY centers aren’t a stretch. Balanced/speedy red. Blue having wings enables flight and maybe some range- fire breath or something. Yellow – iwoudl assume would have a short/stout(think thats right) stature. Yellow would likely be the defensive form hving the bulk of the dumptruck involved, it would beable to take a beating and maybe dish it out but it’d be slow.
So Speedy(or maybe offensive red) Blue i guess would be evasive due to flight, and Yellow would be defensive. It’d be nice to see Pink/white get invovled but I doubt that will happen since i don’t see any visible lines for seperation on Byunmaru, and Wanmaru would probably be an odd center.
