Some trivia: I heard that the red ranger’s actor was a Brazilian Jiu Jutsu practitioner; he once pinned down Hase Ryouji’s actor (Kurokage of Kamen Rider Gaim) effortlessly.

Nice to generalise EVERYONE that disagrees with you, and reduce EVERYONE’S point of view to the ridiculous.
Do you watch The View? Do you watch X-Factor? Do you watch Big Brother? Do you watch WWE? Do you like it all? Or do you not like some of those shows?
Are you dislikes voided because others hate those shows and rant?
For you to sit there and say American Sentai fans are the worst is ridiculous nonsense, and makes YOU the worst kind of fan. People won’t always agree with you, you can’t just write them off as “bitching and moaning”.

Actually, couldn’t care less about if people agree with me. I’d have this viewpoint even I thought the series looked awful. As a generalisation, it is correct. And I’ve noticed you completely ignored what I said just to accuse me of doing what I accused others of doing?
The types of complaints I mentioned are frequent and are worrying. The dismissal of things that don’t seem masculine, the reduction of women to eye candy, the weird ‘can’t be similar, but can’t be different’ dichotomy; these aren’t good ways to approach things. They’re petty and kind of irrelevant.
And no, I don’t care for any of those things. But, hell, WWE and The View aren’t even a thing here unless you have pay TV (WWE) or love midday TV (The View), so, yeah.

That is not at all what is being talked about here its the other weird complaints like the reds needing to be super masc that I have issue with.

Oh come on everyone, we saw 30 seconds of the 1st episode it seems. The Kyoryuger promos weren’t too impressive either, most of the time were in suits and the promo made it seem weird because they emphasized the Samba henshin. Just give it a few episodes, you may just like it. This is the exact same thing fans said about Gaim, “the fruit theme is stupid and this is gonna be a bad series”. Now the fandom is eating it’s words because Gaim is simply amazing.

Well, I was really appalled by the suits when I first saw them, but now that I’ve seen them move a little, actually doesn’t look that bad. Do think the arms next waist things looks a little stupid, but can’t be perfect.

I’m so glad the green ranger is not going to be a scaredy cat and run away everytime the enemy comes. I’m talking about Don Dogoier from Gokaiger who would always run away in a fight and go-on green from go-onger is anothe example. I want green to be like souji from kyoryuger or chiaki from shinkenger. Seeing this promo lets me know that green will be the way I want him to be.

The designs of the suits and mecha feel old-school because of their simplistic design. AND THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT. I’ve been a fan of Tokusatsu for a good while, and I originally had skepticism with Kyoryuger and Gaim, but got blown out of the water by both. Now Gaim is one of my favorite Riders, and Kyoryuger my favorite Sentai. So I’m definitely going to give Tokkyuger a chance. While I don’t think it will knock Kyoryuger out of my favorite slot, I’m willing to give it a shot if for no other reason than that it is Tokusatsu, and damnit I love Tokusatsu!

I hope this Red turns out to be awesome; just based on his voice, he’s hardly going to be hyper-masculine, and it would be nice if they managed to get away with that (at least, if the actor is better than Alata’s, it would be an improvement).
And just wildly speculating, because the design of the mooks looks pretty cool… I bet this is going to be one of those years where the villains steal the show.

Well it still looks like it will be a more goofy/light hearted series. Still curious to see what the plot is and the main villains look/story. As for there foot soliders they look to be cowboy/zorro themed so I would guess maybe a old west themed baddies. Now this series will be interesting to see in a few yrs for us adaption.

I double checked the character listing and was in shock as who I found was the Green Tokyuger–remember Jiro from Fourze (aka, the guy who got stuck in that coma and was the catalyst for Ryusei’s Kamen Rider shenanigans)? That’s him!

For a while it used to be that you get a great Sentai show every other year. Gekiranger, Shinkenger, Gokaiger. But ever since Gokaiger ended, Super Sentai has been going downhill. Go-Busters had nice designs but really bland & boring characters. Kyoryuger is incredibly childish and full of lame “comedy”. I’ve seen American Power Ranger shows with better writing. Tokkyuger seems like it will continue this trend. And yes, those are among the worst suits I’ve ever seen in Sentai. When will it end? When will Super Sentai be GOOD again??

I’m actually pretty impressed with this. While the costumes are a bit lack luster to me the action looks solid and the characters out of costume look interesting. I am willing to give it a chance.
