The leaked trailer is on the internet and it looks GOOD! This new American Godzilla seems to be taking on more of a horror angle versus the more… goofy angle of the 1998 “action” movie. Directed by Gareth Edwards (MONSTERS) this new Big G is set to destroy the world May 16th 2014.

A Minute Thirty, and it was still better than the entirety of the ’98 version.

I wouldn’t call 98 version goofy, just… bad XD. I look forward to this one tho

I think that it is a silly statement, to compare a moment of a movie trailer to a whole feature film. This Godzilla looks a lot more Godzilla-like than the 1st American attempt. Congratulations for that, even though it was not hard to improve on that. I will wait until I can see the creature, more fully before I conclude, but the pug-nose is a bit bothersome to me at the moment, giving a somewhat dog-like appearance. I like a more alligator look, personally.

They gave it more of a dragon type design as oppose to the surrogate long snout.

They…they canged Big G’s roar. You just don’t do that!
October 7, 2013 @ 4:37 am
The roar sounds close enough to be distinctly Godzilla. The 1954 Godzilla sounded a bit different than later versions, while still maintaining the “rusty gate” sound.

Well, that’s an odd fetish ya’ got there… To each their own, I suppose.

It’s a difficult row to hoe, but it works for me. Usually means I sleep through the last 20 or so minutes of any kaiju film, though…

It took me a while to put my jaw back in place be cause it dropped to the floor. I cannot wait!! (Better than the sex and the city horse’s husband’s movie)

was i seriously the only one who like the Matthew Broderick movie?
October 5, 2013 @ 4:54 pm
Nope. I liked it too.
Yes, it was a bit silly at times. But it had its moments… ^_^
Will be interesting to see the new incarnation.

I enjoyed it too, in many ways, making Godzilla, for the first time, seem like a real, organic creature, but yeah, the plot was not great, and they changed its look too much.
