The Gatchaman Movie has finally flown in to Japan’s Theathers! But how did it fair in the fierce battle at the box office? Well you’re gonna have to hit the link to find out. And I’d hurry too, Joe’s Bird Missile finger looks a little itchy!
This week the long awaited live action adaptation of Gatchaman arrived in theaters known to those in America as both “Battle Of The Planets” and “G-Force”. It debuted at number 6 coming in behind Studio Ghibli’s new film, “The Wind Rises” along with “Monster University”, and “Star Trek: Into Darkness” respectively taking the First through Third in that order at the box office. Currently it’s box off debut total has yet to be tallied.
The five serve as humanities defenders by working as agents of the International Science Organization in Tokyo. Galactor, a mysterious group whose technology far surpasses that of humans, has declared war on the entire world and has already subjugated half the planet. A mysterious crystal-like object called a “stone,” is humanity’s only hope. Those who are able to draw out the power of the “stones” are forced to train to become special agents in a five-person team called “Gatchaman.”
