BIG HERO 6, Marvel’s Japanese Super Hero Team is getting the Disney animated treatment. Hiro Hamada and his faithful robot companion Baymax will be assembling a team of reluctant heroes inspired from Japan’s finest and most fun heroes to battle… something. Here’s the official breakdown and test footage:
“From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes “Big Hero 6,†an action comedy adventure about brilliant robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada, who finds himself in the grips of a criminal plot that threatens to destroy the fast-paced, high-tech city of San Fransokyo. With the help of his closest companion—a robot named Baymax—Hiro joins forces with a reluctant team of first-time crime fighters on a mission to save their city. Inspired by the Marvel comics of the same name, and featuring comic-book style action and all the heart and humor audiences expect from Walt Disney Animation Studios, the CG-animated “Big Hero 6†hits theaters in 3D on November 7, 2014.“
I’m really impressed how Marvel is going all out with it’s interesting and obscure properties. They have all their big hits in the air with X-Men, Avengers, Ironman, Thor and Spider-Man that I never really thought properties like Ant Man Guardians of the Galaxy and now Big Hero 6 would get ANY attention. With the wealth of action and characters and inspirations they have to draw from I’m really excited to see how they pull this off!

I would have preferred The Runaways, but I think these guys have so little stuff about them that the producers have a lot of room to develop.
I just wish it was set in Tokyo in the cinematic universe.

Agreed. This isn’t true to the source material and just isn’t my cup of tea. I mean like I fucking love Big Hero 6 but this doesn’t stay true to the mythos of Big Hero 6.

There are talks of doing a film based on The Runaways for Cinematic Universe Phase 3, which includes Ant-Man and quite possibly Doctor Strange.

How much do you bet Red Ronin is going to show up?
