Remember Mobile Fighter G-Gundam? Well Gundam Ace announced that a new manga based on the anime will be starting in March 2013.
The teaser image shown in the magazine shows a modernization of the Bolt, Rose, Maxter, and Dragon Gundam designs, and new Gundam anything usually means one inevitable thing: more model kits!
Gundam Ace is currently running a manga based on New Mobile Report Gundam Wing, and to coincide with the serialization, Bandai released 1/100 scale Master Grade model kits based on the designs used in the Manga, a Master Grade Tallgeese was released not that long ago.
Of course, this is all just wild speculation as there’s very little info to go on but who knows? We could be seeing a modern approach to G-Gundam model kits and toys in the near future!

I’d not really call a manga that’s been running for two years already new. This is just previews for the next chapter of the Chokyu! Kidou Butouden G Gundam manga, by Yasuhiro Imagawa and Kazuhiko Shimamoto. It’s a retelling, no different from Gundam Wing EW: Glory of the Losers, the Origin, or SEED:Re. Now, those designs are new, true, but the manga itself isn’t. They also previously displayed new designs for the four (Bolt, Dragon, Rose, and Maxter) while possessed by DG Cells.
Around the same time, they did launch an offshoot of HGUC models, High Grade Future Century, and put out a handful, including Master, God, Nobell, and I believe Shining as well. But that was 2010/early 2011, so I’m not sure if that idea just failed, or what. (They also did one High Grade After War release as well, sadly enough. I had thought I’d finally get some nice Daughtress kits…)
