Early scans of February’s edition of Hyper Hobby have revealed big details of Go-Busters!
The Kobayashi Yasuko rumours have come true, she is the head writer for the series, having previously worked on Kamen Rider OOO, Shinkenger and *ugh* Kamen Rider Den-O. Naomi Takebe, a veteran of producing Kamen Rider is Head Producer and Hirofumi Fukuzawa who has been the suit actor for decades worth of Red Sentais is the Action Director.
The Go-Busters are 3 Heroes, and their 3 Partners, the BuddyRoids. Their “Mission”- Protect the Earth, as only they can! The fatefull battle of those who are burdened with this mission is abut to start!
It’s set for the battle on Earth and on another world that looks like Japan(convenient). It starts off 13 years ago when a computer bug was accidentally created and went wild on the Energy Administration bureau offices main computer. Somehow, the building was teleported to another dimension and as a by-product of the conflict, a man obtains the mysterious energy known as “Vaam“.
13 years later in the time of now, Vaam has become an indispensable energy source. From the other dimension, the bug program appears once again begins its invasion of Earth. The ones who can stand against it are those 3 children who escaped from the Energy Administration Bureau 13 years ago. Acting together with their BuddyRoids, they have obtained specific abilties beyond that of normal humans! They are the Mission Force Go-Busters!
RedBuster his legs can move at an unbelievable speed so it looks like he can teleport. Chida Nikku, his partner is a Cheetah-type mecha. A positive thinker, and although a robot, has no sense of direction. Acts like an older brother to RedBuster. Able to transform into a motorcycle for RedBuster to ride into battle (where his face becomes the handle and meter.) When fighting in robot mode, Nikku can also use his rear wheels as handheld weapons.
BlueBuster is a fated youth who gained awesome physical strength. He’s the eldest of the Go-Busters. Gorisaki Banana is a Gorilla-type mecha. Faint hearted character who is prone to failing, and apologizes immediately afterwards. He’s always worrying about BlueBuster and is responsible as a mechanic in the base.
YellowBuster, a girl of fate who gained incredible kicking and jumping power. Usada Letas is
Unyielding and selfish and ends up regularly quarrelling with YellowBuster. Works on Data Management in the Control Room.
The other rumour about this being a spy theme seems to have also ringed true, labelled Spy Action. Their equipment. the Buster Gear is used by the Go-Busters use to go into battle and conduct espionage. The Go-Busters suits also carry the spy motif (glasses and shoulder straps). The show is similar to Go Ranger, the first Super Sentai series and the article makes a point to say that Go-Busters is marked as the “first new sentai series.” It has been speculated that Go-Buster may be a new era of Sentai, based on style of costumes and needing to do something new after the giant anniversary series Gokaiger. Could this be a new start?
The Morphin Brace is the transformation item this year which is equipped on the left arm. It’s been a long time since we had wrist devices. “Let’s Morphing! is the henshin call for this year, the obvious references to Power Rangers can’t be ignored. The Transpod is a Buster Gear equipped to the Shoulder Strap of the Go-Busters’ suits and bares the Go-Busters’ mark. It’s a transmission device that also transports different items and weapons. The Ichigan Buster is a long ranged weapon that is also a Single-Lens Reflex Camera. It has a special function in Camera mode. Sougan Blade are Binoculars that transform into a sword and has a special function in Binocular mode. Finally, the Ichigan Buster Special Buster Mode is a combination of the Ichigan Buster and Sougan Blade and Fires a more powerful attack.
That was a lot to handle in one day! Most interesting parts:
It’s still another two months off, but it’s certainly looking promising. Hopefully soon we’ll find out who the actors are. Go-Busters will air 26th February!

Can’t get over the fact that I hate the costumes.
