You read that right, the Golden Knight Garo will be returning for a third season, called “Garo – The One Who Shines In The Darkness”, (牙狼〈GARO〉~闇を照らã™è€…~) according to their official twitter account announced just now. A second big suprise is that cast list does not include any of the original actors, instead the main actor is Wataru Kuriyama, a model and starring alongside him is Junya Ikeda, Gokai Silver from Gokaiger.
Director Makoto Yokoyama, who has worked largely on the previous versions of Garo, returns as the main director for this season. The other two cast are Miki Nanra, a fashion model, and Tsunenori Aoiki, also a new actor. There is no news at this time of any of their roles.
Junya Ikeda returns to tokusatsu
This weekend, the latest Garo movie, Garo: Dragon of the Blue Cry was shown at the International Tokyo Film Festival. Watch the trailer below:

Wait a sec, it’s a GARO series, but none of the established cast will be in it? No Kouga? No Rei? No Wataru? O_O
I wonder how they’re going to work it so none of the already-established characters are invovled? Maybe this new series is supposed to take place during the time that Kouga’s in the “Promised Land”?

I don’t doubt for a nano-second that the old guard will show up.

oh yeah, this is gonna be AWESOME, and Makoto Yokoyama, returns as the main director cool. Hope it as the same feeling like the GARO 2005-2006 second half of the series in terms of action and stunts with the new actors and have a badass sub villain like kodama (mark musashi)

Maybe Junya Ikeda’ll be Kouga and Kaoru’s son? He does kind of look the part in that photo…
