Toei held a press event over the weekend, which HJU attended. We posted videos of some of the Go-Busters toys in action on Sunday and today we’re going to give you a tour of the hall and what happened. If you want to view all our photos from the event, head over to our official Facebook page and remember to “Like” the page so you can keep up to date with all the latest tokusatsu related news.
The event was held at Tokyo Dome in Bunkyo, Japan to promote the 36th entry into the Super Sentai series, Mission Sentai Go-Busters that starts airing next month after the conclusion of Pirate Sentai Gokaiger. It just so happens that the event is held next door to the Gokaiger Stage Show, giving the pirates enough time to run over to appear with the Go-Busters on stage.
Upon entering the building, you’re free to wander around and see all the different sections. Kids and adults were running around like how you’d imagine, kids in a toy shop. There was multiple stalls giving away various promotion items, posters, leaflets and other small items. There was a long line of gashapon machines featuring the Go-Buster characters tucked inside capsules. Go-Buster Dice-O cards were given away freely and it just so happens the new Super Sentai Battle:Dice-O were on hand to try them out.
Various items were given away or sold cheaply
Sadly, not everything was open to the public to snap up. The replica toys of the Go-Busters weapons were on display, attendants constantly used them to portray the different modes and sounds they had. The toys sadly won’t go on sale for another two months, but seeing them in action gave us glimpses of how the Go-Busters were going to use them in the show.
It wasn’t just toys that we were tortured with knowing we couldn’t walk out in our possession, there was a bounty of random items on show. Shampoo, stickers, t-shirts, underwear(WANT), watches, etc all the usual loot that Sentai will slap their name on.
I will kill for those Go-Busters underwear, I’m not kidding.
It wasn’t just merchandise from the show, the out of suit uniforms for the Go-Busters were on display; check out the cute “No touching” sign. The Gokaiger Vs. Gavan movie is still in cinemas so luckily the 6 Gokaigers, Gavan and Bootleg Gavan suits were all on display!
All so pretty, but no touching allowed
Like the Gokaiger stage show next door, filming of the show is restricted, however it’ll be available as an extra on the first volume of the DVD/blu-ray of Go-Busters. The shows ran 5 times a day that held about 5, 000 people. The show starts off with the monsters of the series appearing and a cool projection of CG of the Go-Busters followed by themselves debuting on stage fighting off the Vaguras. The three actors, Katsuhiro Suzuki(Red Buster), Ryouma Baba(Blue Buster and Arisa Komiya(Yellow Buster) then came on stage with their Buddyroids and answered scripted questions that the regular announcer asked them.

Towards the end, the Gokaigers popped over from G-Rosso Theatre and in standard passing the torch fashion, the new team presented the previous team with flowers to celebrate a full years’ run.
