Shout! Factory continues its string of releases from the Super Sentai action hero franchise with two new DVD sets in the coming months.

The first is the pleasant surprise of 1991’s Choujin Sentai Jetman, the only series to be domestically released in the US that was not directly linked to Saban’s Power Rangers brand, which began adapting the original Japanese franchise with Jetman’s successor, 1992’s Kyouryuu Sentai Zyuranger. Jetman remains a fan-favorite of the era, and may prove a surprise for those only familiar with the Saban-affiliated early years.

The second release comes right on schedule, with the arrival of Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger. In 2002, the animal-themed series served as the franchise’s 25th anniversary celebration, the cast from which was featured in the crossover special Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger vs Super Sentai, which gathered heroes from several previous incarnations of Toei Company’s long-running saga.

Choujin Sentai Jetman is set for a September released, followed shortly thereafter by Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger in December, from Shout! Factory.
