Welcome back to Super Hero Synopses, where heroes can get really mixed up sometimes. Kamen Rider Build demonstrated how far Kazumi (Grease) has come when it introduces yet another hostage situation only for him to not take the bait in favour of seeing the bigger picture. Meanwhile series-long villain Gentoku (Rogue) could be making a heroic turn, or he could just be rebelling againt his new masters. Finally, Ryuga (Cross-Z) delivers a classic Rider speech when he refutes Soichi’s (Stark) claims over his destiny and instead re-states his intention to fight for “love and peace”. Over in Kaito Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patranger attention is back on the Patrangers for the first time in many weeks, but they’re still going to be the butt of the episode’s jokes as it launches into a gender-swapping, movie-themed comedy that nevertheless manages to shed some light onto how Sakuya (Patran #2) realy sees his teammates when he’s not joking around.

Is Sento (Build) being outshone by his fellow Riders as we close in on the three quarter mark for the series? Did you enjoy Lupinranger VS Patranger’s comedic turn this week or were you not amused? Kamen Rider Build, Episode 32
“A Pre-Programmed Tragedy”

Pandora’s Box is back in the hands of Touto, and Nanba Heavy Industries is not happy about it. Nariaki contacts Kazumi (Grease) with an ultimatum: bring the box back to Nanba or they’ll kill his former employees from his farm. Up until recently Kazumi might have charged off to save them, but he knows in the broad view far more people will be kept safe by keeping the box where it is, so he stays put. Luckily for him Gentoku (Rogue) decides to free the farmers instead, earning himself a painful blast from the chip implanted into him.

Meanwhile, it’s fallen to Sento (Build) to inform Ryuga (Cross-Z) of his unusual origins, and Ryuga does not take it well. After initially trying to explain the evidence away in other ways he storms out of the cafe and stays out all night, ultimately making his way to the grave of his deceased girlfriend Kasumi.

The next day brings a new scheme from Nanba, who send two attacks simultaneously; The Washio brothers attack near the Sky Wall while Soichi (Blood Stark) and Gentoku attack the Touto Prime Minister’s offices. Kazumi and Sento respond to the brothers, forcing them to merge to Hell Bros before noticing that the Washios’ are just a distraction. Sento peels off and heads to stop them. Ryuga has already responded and is battling Soichi, who manages to cancel his transformation. Soichi tells Ryuga that his power is meant to destroy the world. Sento is about to step in but Ryuga stops him, asserts that just because his power is the same as Soichi’s it doesn’t mean they share the same goal, and once again defeats him. However, this takes enough time for Gentoku to enter his father’s office and kidnap him.

Do you think Ryuga will end up being a wannabe destroyer or worlds? Will Gentoku end up turning good? Were you glad that Kazumi avoided losing anymore friends? Let us know what you think in the comments below, in our forum or on our Facebook page.

Kaito Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patranger, Episode 11
“The Show Must Go On”

It’s been a while since the Patrangers have had much focus and they’re determined to change that. Commissioner Hilltop has assigned them to star in a film that will highlight the work of the Global Police. Unbeknownst to them, a Gangler has also infiltrated the set, though suspicions are somewhat raised when Sakuya’s (Patran #2) body suddenly changes sex! It seems genital reassignment isn’t enough to discourage the young officer though and filming continues until they’re interrupted by some giggling phantom thieves.

The Patrangers chase the Lupinrangers outside with the camera crew hot on their heels. They usher the crew back inside and surmise that the Lupinrangers must be here because there is a Gangler present. Right on cue, Pitchcock appears and shows off his abilities by making the other two Patrangers switch gender before making everyone slip over as if there were banana peels under their feet. Pitchcock exits and the Lupinrangers flee just as the camera crew manages to get the doors open.

Sakuya presses the other two Patrangers to continue filming, revealing that he was inspired by them as a recruit and wants to show the world how wonderful his colleagues are. Filming continues again only for the majority of the crew to be revealed as Pordermen and attack. The director reacts with excitement rather than surprise, causing both the Patrangers and the returning Lupinrangers to believe that he is Pitchcock in disguise. However, Sakuya uses his new-found “women’s intuition” to determine that Pitchcock is actually the single remaining cameraman.

The Lupinrangers use their grappling hooks to swing through the air and avoid Pitchcock’s slipping power until they crack open his safe. Pitchcock attempts to change their genders but the blast ends up returning the Patrangers to normal before they finish him off. When Pitchcock grows for his encore the Lupinrangers face off with him using Lupin Kaiser Knight. Pitchcock switches the Blade Dial Fighter’s “gender” to hammer, so they destroy him with their new Dial Fighter. Sometime later, the Patrangers’ watch their movie on the TV and are less than impressed, except for Sakuya who thinks it will help him get more girls.

What did you think of the gender-swapped Patranger costumes? Will we ever see the Hammer Dial Fighter again? Were you glad to see the Patrangers get some more time in the spotlight? Share your thought with us in the comments below, in our forum or on our Facebook page.
