Review: Kamen Rider Build DX Hawk Gatlinger

Kamen Rider Build‘s new form, HawkGatling, is his first to have an exclusive weapon- the Hawk Gatlinger. This item is interesting in that it’s not a bad toy but it doesn’t come with any Full Bottles nor does it interact with them to add any extra depth or playability to it. Now this is not totally unheard of in Kamen Rider but it will definitely deter fans from the purchase, though after the DX Drill Crusher setting the bar so low, the Hawk Gatlinger is a good step in the right direction.

So what does it do? Well for starters you can pull the trigger for classic gun shot sounds, rotating the barrel gives out a number from 10-100 (counting by tens) and fires that many shots the next time the trigger is pulled. When the barrel is rotated ten times and it announces “one hundred” the final attack is activated. When the trigger is pulled now the user gets a long gun shot sequence (one hundred shots) with hawk sounds mixed in and an explosion to top it all off. Overall, it’s the better of the two weapons we’ve gotten so far from Build’s toy line but that’s not saying much and its lack of a gimmick will definitely make this an easy pass for some, but I like it.
