Review: Kamen Rider Build DX Build Driver

Well, Kamen Rider Build has begun and with the new series comes new toys. Today we have the DX Build Driver. The Build Driver is very different from the Gamer Driver of Kamen Rider Ex-Aid in that it has all the sounds pre-programmed into it. This may be a bit off-putting at first, since additional sounds are going to be limited to what is currently inside the Driver, but the trade-off is a bigger, heavier Driver that feels more like a piece of high-tech machinery than a piece of plastic. The crank is very satisfying as well and the sound effects are solid, though a unique sound for each Voltech Finish would have been a welcome addition. Full Bottles on the other hand are surprisingly smaller than they appear on the show. They, of course, make no sound effects on their own but they do have unique colors, labels and sculpted images on them. The shaking gimmick is rather satisfying too. Overall, the DX Build Driver set is a very different beast from the previous Gamer Driver but for me personally its a very solid toy. It would have been nice if the set came with more than two Full Bottles but outside of that I’m finding it hard to really come up with any faults for this set.
