Godzilla 2 Gets New Release Date, Director Leaves Project

Warner Bros. announced that Godzilla 2 gets a new release date in addition to Godzilla vs. Kong‘s newly announced release date.

Godzilla 2‘s release date was moved from June 8, 2018 to March 22, 2019. In addition, director Gareth Edwards left the project to direct smaller projects after directing Godzilla and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Legendary and Warner Bros. have no hard feelings of Edwards leaving the project.

As for the epic Godzilla vs. Kong, it now has a solid release date of May 29, 2020. These two films are part of Warner Bros. and Legendary’s new cinematic universe that features Godzilla, King Kong, and other classic Toho monsters.
