The tokusatsu community is atwitter with the normal rumors that circulate during the mid season mark of an incumbent Super Sentai season. As one toku fan to another, I’d advise taking them with grain of salt, but we both know we love trying to forecast what series, toys, tropes, and themes will be up next. This year with the trademark confirmation of a “Shuriken Sentai Ninninger” (source Anime News Network), it’s only natural to feel the wanton desire for another ninja sentai team. Let’s face it, Hurricanger 10 Years After was phenomenal.
Well the recent dousing of gas to the toku speculation fire comes from an very unexpected source. Yoshi Sudarso, actor of the upcoming Power Rangers adaptation of Kyoryuger, Power Rangers Dino Charge, took to his personal Facebook with the fervor of a raging henshin hero fan.
” I just had one of the most amazing days ever. I got to meet Takeyuki Suzuki and spoke to him and his team during lunch. He told me his favorite sentai was Bioman, showed me what the Shuriken Sentai team looks like and I got to do the Kyoryu change for them! Video will be posted when I find out if I’m allowed or not.
P.S. Shuriken Sentai looks so good! Also I get to visit the set when I’m done filming in New Zealand.”
This is an exciting post not only because it corroborates information about the upcoming Sentai season, it also highlights the hard work he is putting into making sure Dino Charge is a fun and faithful, in terms of energy, adaptation of Kyoryuger which we can all agree is no easy feat. This article will be updated with the video link as soon as it is made available (assuming it doesn’t breach any contractual agreements). Let us know what you think of the upcoming Power Rangers season or the news coming from the set of newest Super Sentai series.
