Info on Pacific Rim 2, Animated Series and Comic.

Last week director Guillermo del Toro announced that Pacific Rim 2 would be coming in April 2017, along with an animated series and a comic book. Recently he revealed some info about each one.

Naturally he didn’t say much about the movie, except that it will have the same giant robot versus monster action but will a very different film than the first one.

As for the animated series, it will take place before the first film, and many of the stories will feature the pilots working in the Shatterdome, the massive hangers where the Jaegers are built and maintained in addition to pilot cadet training. He also goes on to state that the animated series will introduce and flesh out characters that will appear in the second film.

Not much was said about the coming, except it would have about three years of print additions before the film came out.

Over all del Toro said he wanted all three to be canon so if someone came into from one they could easily see or read the others and expand the universe.
