Cardfight!! Vanguard: Rise Of The Kaiser

The Dimension Police of CardFight!!  Vanguard just keeps getting better and better. And we here at HJU love the Dimension Police because of their deep toku roots. But how did they get better? Well we are actually going to talk about the newest units to join the Police’s roster and take a look at the newest deck. So hit the link to STAND AND DRAW!

Earlier this month the ranks of the Dimension Police the Tokusatsu themed Clan in CardFight!! Vanguard grew immensely with the release of the newest starter deck Dimensional Brave Kaiser. This gave Dpolice users new triggers and units to upgrade our deck’s themed around Dimensional Robos the same deck used by Team Caesar’s leader Kenji Mitsusada a boost in power.

We’ll take a look at just some of the new units that debuted and just were they might fall into toku or anime fandom:

Here we have two of the new triggers for Dimensional Robo  Daicrane who looks like is on loan from the Autobots. While Gorescue is an dead ringer for Tomica Hero: Rescue Force’s Rescue Striker.

DaiTiger is a sentient robot tiger who is probably a loose reference to the Robot Lions of Go-Lion or Voltron here in the US. No word if he combines with anyone else to form a greater Dimensional Robo. It’s possible he’s part of Cosmo Great seeing as how he’s hand is either a tiger or Lion head on the left. While Comsogreat himself is also loosely based on Voltron.

Rounding out the final two are Kaizard and his ultimate form Daikaiser. Now while these two look like Megazords, they are actually based on an anime franchise that ran through the entirety of the 1990’s. The Franchise is known as the Brave series most notable of it is GaoGaiGar.

We’ll also be listing a build using these cards in hopes that you too will build and enjoy the Dpolice deck as much as we enjoy playing it. (Minus Cosmogreat…Who ironically isn’t that great)

  • Never watched or followed Cardfight Vanguard, but I think Daikaiser may be a direct reference to Compatible Kaiser, a Super Robot from the Super Robot Wars game series.

Compartible Kaiser originally appeared in the Super Famicom game The Great Battle IV, and was the combination of four vehicles, with Roar (original character), Gundam V2, Kamen Rider ZO and Ultraman Powered piloting each of the vehicles.

It reappeared later in Super Robot Wars OG, for the PS2, redesigned by Masami Oobari and no longer a combiner.
