About the Tournament, I don't think it was mentioned in the series but there were a couple of Garo novels. The one that introduced at least the concept of Raiga also, I believe, introduced the idea of a worldwide tournaments of Knights. A few people in the forum at the time was speculating that was the same tournament mentioned in the movie and Toegun no Fue.
I'm glad they talked about the Episode 7 'set piece' fights.. I always wondered if they were always trying to re-invent the wheel with the big fights.. like Makai Senki's Garo/Dark Garo fight of the Yami no train fight... It's good they feel the need to surpass that original 7 fight!
Actually I believe that there's a legitimate store that sells a garo ken http://www.jap-inc.com/SHOP/GARO-MKK.html It is an insane 550,000 yen however. Also the fighting dummy camoe appeared in Tougen no fue :p
even at the end it was so sweet when they put the tournament revival pendant thing on a broken wore down fighting dummy to symbolize Kakashi
