Tamashi to Produce Super Mario Figuarts?! Mama Mia!

The Bandai Tamashi department gives collectors a 1up with the announcement that one of the most iconic and recognized faces in gaming is coming to S.H.Figuarts. Fully revealed at UK Toy fair after weeks of teasing from Bluefin..Super Mario will soon be coming down the warp pipe!

On his own, S.H.Figuarts Mario is surprisingly very affordable at 2000 yen or $24 US according to a post by Bluefin Distribution. Mario is rather light in the accessory count only including a power up Mushroom, mystery block, and coin. However, there will be two play sets that will include various diorama pieces straight from the game to help transform entire shelves into levels straight out of the game! Sold separately, the playsets will cost $19 a piece before shipping and taxes.

Mario and the playsets will be released in March in Japan while the US release won’t happen till around June. Going forward with the license, who knows what Bandai has in store for us? Where there’s Mario…a Luigi can’t be too far behind and hopefully we could see other characters like Bowser, a rideable Yoshi, or even Princess Peach as well.
