Tsuburaya announced yesterday that they discovered over an hour’s blooper reel footage of the original Ultraman series. NHK news website exclusively has four different clips to view online.

Reportedly, the footage was found at an employers home who had kept the reel of film for a number of years. The hour of video is solely from the original Ultraman series.

The four clips show Ultraman falling over during a throw after losing balance when picking up a piece of scenery, a monster on fire, a suit actor tripping over a piece of set and Imitation Ultraman unable to chop and destroy a building.

Tsuburaya did not state what it plans to do with the discovery or even if it will release it in some form or include it as an extra in a home release. They do however stress that this is very valuable footage for the tokusatsu community. The second blu-ray box set of the Ultraman series will be released tomorrow with remastered episodes of 14 through 26.
