In the aftermath of a tornado that touched down in Japan on Monday, a gracious donation was made by one of Japan’s most well known benefactors of children: Tiger Mask! We have the story about this Pro Wrestler and savior of children’s act of kindness for you here!
On the morning of Monday, September 2nd a tornado touched down in Koshigaya, in the Saitama Prefecture and continued into Noda, in the Chiba Prefecture. The tornado left dozens injured and hundreds of buildings either damaged or destroyed. One in particular was Hobuku Elementary, which sustained rather heavy damage. A mere two days later a man dressed as Tiger Mask arrived at the school and donated 100,000 yen (close to 1000 US dollars) in 500 yen coins (5 Dollars US) enclosed in a book with only a note saying “Please use this for the restoration of the school and care of the children’s hearts.â€
The Noda Board Of Education later released in a statement that the donated money would be used to expand the school’s disaster provisions.
This is not actually the first time the famed feline phenomenon has appeared to aid children. Over the course of 2011 a large movement of “Tiger Masks” appeared in various schools with supplies for their children – mostly in the form of Randoseru, a type of back pack often used by elementary children and other various school supplies.
