Gen 1 Pokemon Starters Get Mega Evolutions in Pokemon X and Y

In a move everyone hoped but no one saw coming, during a Pokemon Direct presentation  it was announced that the three Kanto region starters Blastoise, Charizard and Venusaur will be getting the much debated mega treatment.

From Serebii.net:

Mega Venusaur has the ability Thick Fat, Mega Charizard has the ability Drought and Mega Blastoise has the ability Mega Launcher which boosts its moves. It also confirmed that you will need to obtain a bracelet called the Mega Ring that holds a mysterious stone called a Key Stone. The Trainer’s Key Stone resonates with the Mega Stone held by his or her Pokémon.

In additional news there was also news announced that Nintendo will be offering a service known as Pokemon Bank that stores your Pokemon on a cloud service (keeping them secure from corruption or error files) for a fee. Also mentioned was the PokeTransporter a free app that helps you move Pokemon from previous games such black and white  into the new X and Y game and onto/out of the Pokemon Bank.

All these developments are making me dizzy with excitement. So much so that I made my own reaction while laying down:

I know this a lot to take in, but how do you guys feel about the direction the new Pokemon series is heading, and which Mega Evolution announced today do you find to be the coolest?
