One of the greatest space operas comes soon to the theaters of Japan. We have the pleasure of presenting the theme of the movie as well as clips to the truly the greatest space pirate of them all, Captain Harlock. So hit the link and join the crew of the Arcadia.
Coming to theaters on September 7th is the long awaited CG movie of the legendary space pirate/opera Captain Harlock. Recently the theme of the movie was released to the general public in the form of a special movie accompanied with some clips of the upcoming film itself.
The theme song called, “”L’Amour dans ton Coeur†by Tokiko Kato.” This piece is a more modern version to go along with the film compared to the original theme song(shown below) of the tv series replacing the heavy orchestra band with electric guitars and drums.
Written by legendary Mangaka Leiji Matsumoto back in 1977-79, it tells the story of Space Pirate Captain Harlock, who rebels against Earth’s inept government and fights for humanity with his crew of 40 aboard the invincible space battleship Arcadia. The movie will focus not only on Harlock and his crew, but Yama a movie only character who is a young man who infiltrates the Arcadia, attempting to assassinate Captain Harlock. The movie features the voices of Shun Oguri and Haruma Miura, as Captain Harlock and the assassin Yama, respectively. The movie is estimated to have a 30 million US dollar budget which the highest ever priced movie project for TOEI.
