Guillermo Del Toro promotes Pacific Rim which is releasing in Japan this month runs into the Gundam. So hit the link and find out some fun facts about the Jaegers and their inspiration!

While on tour in Japan to promote  his giant robot vs kaiju master piece “Pacific Rim”, Guillmero Del Toro along with both Japanese actresses Rinko Kikuchi and Mana Ashida come across Gundam Front in Diver City and take a peek at life size Gundam itself. Del Toro also tells how some of the Jaegers are inspired by Mobile Suits from the Gundam Franchise. Most notably are Cherno Alpha which is based off Zeon’s Zaku and Coyote Tango which is based off the Federations Gun Cannon.
