Power Rangers ACG: HJU Exclusive Set 2 Preview!

Hey everyone!

DJKlaxx here, and today I have a special treat for the HJU fans.
As many in the community know, the Power Rangers Action Card Game from Bandai has been a success among collectors and players in our community, and Bandai has continued to provide great interaction with them through Facebook, Twitter, and other channels. So,I’ve recently received a pack of exclusive preview cards for the Power Rangers ACG! I’ve decided to share this awesome happening with the HJU Fans.

Before we begin, I want to thank Andy Do at Bandai for giving me this chance to do something very cool for the fandom. Thanks Andy! Hopefully we can keep up this dialog we have and do some good for the game and the community.

That being said, let’s dive right in! We’ll start with a very unique card for an established Ranger Team in the game… Samurai!

We have here the Samurai Turtle Zord! It’s a 3 cost, 3 Damage, Rock symbol card, with lots going for it.

First, let’s break down it’s stat line. It’s really solid, with a progressive power crawl into it’s MAX. Without an equal cost Zord, you’re likely to take out a good portion of the possible Ranger opponents you’ll have for this card. However, be wary of Super Samurai and of assists, as their levels get really big, really quickly.

Next, let’s look at abilities. It’s Activation Line says it activates when Played, and when it Wins. That means, as soon as it hits the table, and you pay the cost, you activate. On top of that, you activate again if you Win!
This card’s effect lets you grab a SAMURAI Zord from the discard pile. In the mid to late game, you’ll have used one or two of these, and especially if you’re using the Folding Zords from the Starter and Set 1, this card comes in very useful, as well as giving the possibility of getting this card for 2 cost, by discarding a Zord as part of it’s cost.

On top of everything, Turtle Zord was given the ALLY Symbol! When Turtle Zord is in the Training Zone, this effect is active. When a card with Ally is used for an Assist, it gives an additional +1 assist, bringing this card’s already ridiculous assist to 4! This will almost always guarantee a MAX off of the assist.

This card is useful on many fronts. The Samurai’s main effect is Direct Damage, which are all effects on cards requiring Discards. With Turtle Zord in the arsenal, that makes the costs a bit easier to bear with, and you won’t have to worry quite so much about keeping a decent hand size.

The next card we’ll look at is another Samurai. At first glance there’s nothing special about it, but…

It’s the Red Samurai, with the Fire Smasher! He’s a 0 Drop, 1 Damage/Assist Paper symbol card, with a very unique Stat Line.
Yes! That’s a Level 1 Max! While his other stats (2-5) are decent to good in power, having 2 MAX Levels on a 0 drop make this a formidable card to have in your Samurai deck. I recommend replacing the 0 Level Red from the Starter Deck (Rise Of Heroes) with copies of this one.

The last card we’re going to look at is very, very cool for me, as the show it comes from is one of my favorites. He also comes with a very strong effect that makes the team quite formidable!

)

Yes! It’s the Crimson Ninja Ranger! He’s a 2 cost, 2 Damage/Assist, Paper Symbol card that brings a very dangerous ability to Ninja Storm.

First, his Stat line. He’s very strong, easily classing himself in the middle to high tier of 2 Cost cards, while still being balanced. The power crawl is interesting, with large jumps in a couple places, and smaller ones in others. Especially of note is the jump from Level 4 to 5, which is a 100 point increase!

His ability activates when played, which once again means when he hits the table and his cost is paid. The effect lets you look at your opponent’s hand, and discard a 0 or 1 cost card from it!

There’s many great ways to implement this ability. Are you playing against a Samurai Deck? Take away their Direct Damage Rangers! Against Megaforce? Knock out a Megaforce Ranger to prevent the use of their Symbol changing effects! This card is also great against Villians like Goldar, which bounce back to hand if they are defeated. This card can really put a dent in your opponent’s plans quickly, and it’s 2 Damage and Assist are nothing to sneeze at.

This is all I have to share with you guys for the moment. I want to thank Andy at Bandai once more for giving me these cards to share with you, as well as the fans of this game on the site and otherwise for making the game boom.

I encourage you guys to like the official Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/PowerRangersCards .

You can also check out more previews of Set 2, “Guardians of Justice” at

The set features more Rangers, new Teams, and tons more possibilities for your decks. I’m personally really excited for the addition of SPD and Mystic Force, and I look forward to building those decks when I get a chance.

So, what do you think of the new cards? Do you have any deck plans? Specific cards or teams you’re looking forward to? Leave me a comment here, or on my twitter ( I’m @DJKlaxx )!

Thanks for reading, HJU fans, and continue fighting for JUSTICE!
