Koichi Sakamoto’s Sexy TRAVELERS: DIMENSION POLICE Coming To Japan Screens This April!

Diverse Japan and other sources are reporting some new details on an upcoming sci-fi, fantasy action adventure straight from Japan. The film is called Travelers: Dimension Police, a film that promises a “Sexy, authentic action movie…no questions asked,” and is currently being heralded among fans and bloggers who faithfully watch Tokusatsu televsion shows on a regular basis as a reunion among fellow actors and actresses, and creators who share an historic legacy in their industry.

The upcoming supercharged sexy action thriller will star actress/singer Nao Nagasawa, and actress/model Ayumi Kinoshita in story about a beautiful lawwoman working for an interdimensional police force, who serendipitously crosses paths with her former partner-turned-enemy, forcing each other to confront their past while investigating an innerspace terrorist agency a dangerous mission that could decide the fate of the multiverse as we know it. The film also stars Yuko Takayama, Kenji Ebisawa and Kentaro Shimazu with a screenplay by Sotaro Hayashi, and is directed by action impressario Koichi Sakamoto, who intially began his efforts with a proof of concept video he reportedly worked on starting in 2008.

Five years in the making, filming finally began in March of last year in Taiwan and wrapped a month later, before premiering as one of five films lined up at AFM 2012. and is now planned for a limited Japan theatrical release beginning the week of April 13, 2013.

SYNOPSIS:

Ten years have passed since the discovery of inter-cosmic travel. The existence of three parallel worlds has been confirmed. What happens in one cosmos, even the slightest incident, can create a “butterfly effect” that influences events in the other worlds. In response to these discoveries, the “Dimension Police” and “Space Guardian Academy” are formed. The beautiful female investigator Ai is the Space Guardian Academy’s top agent. Along with her trusted android partner, Bridge, she has been assigned to eliminate the inter-cosmic terrorist group DOUBT. Amidst the struggle, Ai finds herself challenged like she never has been before when allies become enemies, enemies become allies, and the mastermind behind the evilplot is revealed. The surprises never end in this sexy, action-packed sci-fi adventure. Who is behind DOUBT and what do they have planned? Will Ai be able to save the multi-verse from those who wish to conquer it?

Sakamoto, who is well-known in the industry for bringing light and magic to big and small screens as a martial arts stuntman, performer, action coordinator, choreographer, producer, executive producer and director, carries well over twenty years of credits to his name. The high-profile action filmmaker and co-founder of Alpha Stunts, is among those responsible for helping create memorable action screens for several Tokusatsu and Super Sentai television properties, including Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (along with industry actor, stunt performer and coordinator Jeff Pruitt) and VR troopers as a 2nd unit director. He is also behind the action in other popular martial arts action films such as Drive and Guyver: Dark Hero (dir: Steve Wang), Devon’s Ghost, Gedo: Fatal Blade, High Voltage, Extreme Heist and one of my favorite Film Of The Week entries, Broken Path.
