FanFilm: SOLDIER SEVEN

Kicking of Fan Film Fridays with this joint from one of our readers, Andrew Reed. Hit the jump to check it out, but first a little something from Andrew’s Team:

Filmed in July of 2010, but not publicly released until February of 2012, this project was produced and spearheaded by Alabama filmmakers Andrew Reed and Brad Thompson as an attempt to get internships with Saban Brands in New Zealand on the set of Power Rangers Samurai. Reed and Thompson met in college at the University of North Alabama and started working on productions together before one day discussing how they were both huge fans of Power Rangers in their childhood. After hearing that Saban Brands was going to be hiring an entirely new production crew for Samurai, Reed decided to act.

Reed suggested to Thompson that if they were able to make an exciting homage to the show and then send it (along with their resumes) to the Saban offices, they might have a slim chance of getting an internship or pa position working on Samurai. Even though they knew it was a shot in the dark they figured it was at least worth trying. Ultimately the video did receive some positive comments from individuals in the Saban offices and was even sent to the show’s executive producer Jonathan Tzachor, but unfortunately nothing ever came about.
