Bakumatsu Gijinden Roman

Monkey Punch returns with some familiar faces, but in a whole new era! To learn about how Roman sets about to right the wrongs as a legendary thief !

Premiering last night was Legendary Artist/Story teller Monkey Punch’s new anime Bakumatsu Gijinden Roman. The story follows Roman, a helper or Jack of all trades handy man by day and a phantom thief who operates at night. Set  in the Genroku era (1688-1704).  Bakumatsu Gijinden Roman  will shift the timeframe to Bakumatsu, the era that spelled the end of the shoguns’ rule over Japan. The character designs stand out the most and if your a fan of Lupin III your more than likely spot more than few familiar faces.

Hirofumi Ogura (Black Butler II, The Knight in the Area) is directing atTMS Entertainment. Tatsuto Higuchi (scripts in Inazuma Eleven, Hanasaku Iroha,Phi-Brain: Puzzle of God) is in charge of the series scripts, and Satoshi Hirayama(Lupin III specials, Glass Mask) is adapting Monkey Punch‘s designs for anime.Hiroshi Takaki (AKB0048, Kyousogiga) is scoring the music.
