After watching the preview, I have one thing to say. FUZZY. The quality of the ripped part was horrible. Elsewise, though, it was pretty good. I actually feel bad, because I feel like I'm being too picky. I really want to like this show.
It's cool, but... what do you mean by "fuzzy?" O_o
It's kind of hard to describe, but this is how I'd put it best. There's a difference in picture quality from the new american scenes (you know, the plot advancing stuff, the new fight scenes), and the old footage from Ryuki (the mirror world fight, the spider, the unbonded kamen rider's sword falling from the sky). Granted, there wasn't much of the old footage as compared to the new, but it certainly was noticeable.
I'm conflicted on this theme -- certainly it's got a rockin' beat, and I'm glad we're not getting some hip-hop stuff like Disney's been doing to Power Rangers lately.
On the other hand, it's also incredibly generic. "Kamen Rider Dragon Knight. We can fight the fight. So let's ride"? -- Clearly a studio band told to: "Mention the name of the show" and "work the tag line in."
It doesn't compare to Alive A Live. Or Justi-Faiz. Or Next Level. Or, well. Any Kamen Rider opening theme. Not even Kamen Rider Black. ;)
Ok, i'll will admit the it doesnt hold the true essence of the theme ryuki had or any real lyric originality, but i think it works in terms or just being slightly catchy. I think that its a good start for revamping the series and all of this. I mean, Masked Rider was a cancer of the henshin series. However, i think that to really get people in, you have to slowly work people back to the franchise.
I mean, dragon ball z had no real originality in its american theme, but people brought it back into a franchise of good standing. Just have to wait. Who knows? We may be seeing a good theme at Kamen rider kabuto or whatever they will call it now.
I've got 1 thing to say about the theme song: THIS SONG ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Man, alive a live sucked, and this show is shaping up to be better than the Ryuki. There's no annoying gimmicky characters nor fan-girl pandering. it's just a straight up fun show mixed with seriousness. Steve Wang is a blessing.
gay gay gay, dragon fag is gay, RYUKI forever!
