Green Lanter Wars: Geoff Johns on Sinestro Corps

In blackest day … In brightest night …
Beware your fears made into light.
Let those who try to stop what’s right…
Burn like my power … Sinestro’s might!

The oath of the Sinestro Corps has sent tremors of fear across the DC Universe. Aside from freeing Parallax, the Cyborg Superman and Superboy Prime from captivity and killing a handful of Green Lantern trainees in the process, Sinestro dealt the Green Lantern Corps another crippling blow by separating him from Ion, the alien entity of willpower and bonding Parallax to Kyle Rayner, but their leader is none other than the monstrous Anti-Montior, the being responsible for unleashing genocide on untold billions of parallel Earths in the now-classic Crisis on Infinite Earths story back in 1985.

But what is the Sinestro Corps’ true purpose? What is the secret of the prophecy the Guardians, Ganthet and Sayd are trying to keep hidden? How is the alien entity called Ion connected to the Green Lantern’s power rings? What role do these new color spectrums play in the story? Writer Geoff Jones’ interview on the story and what it means for the future of the DC Universe can be read here.
