It all began with a website once called CNX and now is the bastion of justice known far and wide as TheXBridge. I was HUGE fan of Toonami back in the day and the presentation it brought to bringing back old favorites like the Thundercats and Robotech in way that had never been done before. These people actually knew and understood the material and what it was so fucking cool. Every video and bumper not only brought back shows like Ronin Warriors, Reboot, and Sailor Moon, but presentation that this time wasn’t some generic train, but one that you could tell was from fans and for fans.
I immediately took to the internet and joined forces with Jeff Harris and his heroes of Toonami justice over at his website under the name JohnCrichton. That’s where I got my start for loving web communities and message boards. I learned how best to construct and create feeling of kinship and camaraderie that led me to help out another Jeff that owned a pretty tiny site at the time called, Japan Hero. Thus its Access was eventually born.
Needing room to grow and leaving the Japan Hero to forge its own formidable path, eventually lead to my journey out into the cybernetic wild of the intertron to find a place where I might construct my own sprawling web-metropolis.
The first name I came up with was actually Karate Explosion Unlimited (…seriously), but was told that was stupid and eventually settled on Henshin Justice Unlimited. Thanks to heroes like DekaMaster, MarZeo, SC, Aarowned and countless others that deserve mention HJU is here and I couldn’t be more proud.
So here’s to the awesome block of action that basically started all for me. Happy Birthday, Toonami and keep on rockin. 😉
